Inhibition of tumor growth in Colo-26 murine colon carcinoma tumors. (a) Experimental design. (b) Tumor growth curves of the CTRL, light-only, sunitinib-only and sunitinib+light groups. Tumor growth was significantly inhibited by treatment with sunitinib alone (**P<0.0001) versus CTRL. Light therapy did not have any effect on tumor growth (P=0.95 versus CTRL), whereas the combination of sunitinib and light resulted in a significant enhancement of tumor growth inhibition (**P<0.0002 versus sunitinib only, ANOVA), N≥4.
