Visceralization of Leishmania infantum from US foxhounds, transmitted by sandflies into hamsters. Leishmania spp.–specific quantitative PCR was performed, and parasite load was calculated from a standard curve. Horizontal bars indicate mean values for 3 experiments run in duplicate.
