Comparison between non-elderly and elderly regarding the frequency of each class of chronic liver disease. Comparisons between non-elderly and elderly patients showed that the percentages of pre-sarcopenia in those with chronic hepatitis were 12.4 and 17.0 % (P = 0.316), in those with liver cirrhosis Child-Pugh A, they were 26.2 and 23.5 % (P = 0.534), in those with liver cirrhosis Child-Pugh B, they were 25.3 and 43.5 % (P = 0.007), and in those with liver cirrhosis Child-Pugh C, they were 37.9 and 36.4 % (P = 0.899), respectively
