Two-layer Phos-tag PAGE resolves the phosphorylated and unphosphorylated forms of Lhcb1 and Lhcb2. Antisera against Lhcb1 or Lhcb2 recognize both bands, whereas phospho-specific antisera (P-Lhcb1 or P-Lhcb2) recognize only the slower migrating band, confirming that it represents the form that is phosphorylated at the N-proximal Thr. P and U indicate the phosphorylated and unphosphorylated forms, respectively. BL, Blue light; FR, far-red.
