Scope of the DVMA with respect to the dienones.^[a]

^[a]Reactions performed using 1.0 equiv of 2 (0.2 mmol, 0.5 m), 2.0 equiv of 1, 0.2 equiv of 3 d, and 0.4 equiv of p-anisic acid in CH₂Cl₂ at 4 °C. Yields of isolated products are given. The d.r. values were determined by ¹H NMR analysis of the crude reaction mixture. The ee values were determined by HPLC analysis using a chiral stationary phase.
