Xbp1−/− mice fed a HFS diet have an increased hepatic level of phosphorylated JNK. Xbp1fl/fl and Xbp1−/− mice were fed either chow or a HFS diet for 4 or 16 wk. Liver homogenates from each group were pooled (n ≥ 4 in each group) and analyzed by Western blot using antibodies against phosphorylated and total JNK, ERK, and p38.
