The yield forces from Fig. 3C were plotted as a histogram (n = 144). These data were least squares fitted to the linear sum of two Gaussian distribution functions. The two populations have peak heights of 21.59 and 6.24, peak values of 2.60 pN and 8.13 pN and SD of 1.45 pN and 2.01 pN respectively.
