Decreased persister levels of ΔureG, ΔsdhA, and ΔsdhB mutants under oxidative stress (hydrogen peroxide). Stationary-phase cultures were diluted 1:100 in TSB medium. Hydrogen peroxide was added to a final concentration of 50 mM. The susceptibilities of the (A) ΔureG, (B) ΔsdhA, and (C) ΔsdhB knockout mutants and their complemented strains were determined. The error bars indicate standard deviations. ^*indicates significant differences in comparison to the parent strain (p-value < 0.05).
