Time course of ethanol-induced ER stress in the developing brain adapted from data published by Ke, Z. et al. [5]. (A) Mice PD7 were subcutaneously injected with ethanol or saline as described in Figure 1. At 2, 4, 6, and 24 h after ethanol injection, animals were sacrificed and protein from the cerebral cortex was extracted. The expression of GRP78, CHOP, p-eIF2α, and tubulin was analyzed with immunoblotting; (B) the protein expression was quantified by densitometry, normalized to the level of actin and presented as mean ± SEM [5].
