Ligand-dependent activation induces receptor phosphorylation and a downstream signaling cascade, which acts on the cytoskeleton and regulates cellular proliferation, migration and invasion in glioma cells. Activated clusters of receptors internalize into the receptor-expressing cell and are eventually degraded.
