Adult WT (n = 45) and Wads^−/− (n = 20) mice (8–10 weeks old, 19–22 g) were intraperitonealy injected with AOM once and followed by three periods of 2.5% DSS in drink water. For the controls, WT mice (n = 5) received an injection of normal saline and had free access to distilled water. Mice were weighed twice weekly during the period of the experiments and sacrificed at the indicated time points (4 weeks, 8 weeks, 20 weeks and 37 weeks) after AOM injection.
