The positions of miRNA and miRNA biogenesis genes are indicated on chromosome ideograms (left-hand side). Arrowheads on the right-hand side of the ideograms indicate lung cancer relevant genes catalogued in COSMIC: the Cancer Gene Census (associated with one of the following terms: “lung”, “NSCLC” or “multiple tumor types”), the most reliable list of cancer-related genes annotated and curated by the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (originally published in [78]). Additionally, the position of GOLPH3, which is discussed in this study, is indicated. Red and blue arrowheads indicate oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, respectively.
