Tuning width and anatomical location. The width of tuning of individual neurons to a preferred saccade direction increased with distance from the rhinal sulcus (r.s.), as shown in the left plot of circular variance for all SD cells (presented in Fig. 2D). Variance was not significantly correlated with distance from the posterior border of the EC (roughly orthogonal to the distance from the rhinal sulcus), as shown on the right.
