Results of learning and memory abilities in Y-maze in rats

Groups Learning frequency/times Learning time(s) Memory frequency/times Memory time(s)
Blank control 39.00±14.98 465.00±322.03 26.33±2.51 285.75±48.04
Model control 64.67±9.57* 1034.25±82.01* 36.00±1.41 1040.33±99.33
Electro-acupuncture 23.75±8.85**, 251.50±118.18**, 12.33±10.15 70.20±45.15
L-dopa 33.50±8.35** 289.75±151.07** 13.75±7.23 77.50±41.40
*

P < 0.05, Electroacupuncture vs. Blank control group;

**

P < 0.05, vs. Model control group.

The table lists that Model group’ learning frequency was significantly increased and learning time was significantly longer than Blank control group; Electroacupuncture and L-dopa groups’ learning frequency was significantly reduced and the related learning time was significantly shorter. No signifcant differences in learning frequency ○ (P=0.16) and learning time □ (P=0.70) were detectable between the electroacupuncture group and L-dopa group.
