Initial visual field compared against visual field outcome. The visual fields at presentation were rank ordered and compared against the final visual field. There was a significant correlation between the initial visual field and final visual field outcome, although there were a few outliers (Spearman Correlation = 0.667, P < 0.0001). Each category of vision loss was analyzed separately. There was a significant correlation between the initial visual field and final visual field outcome in patients with a combination of macular changes and optic neuropathy (Spearman Correlation = 0.780, P < 0.0001) and in those with optic neuropathy alone (Spearman Correlation = 0.952, P < 0.0001). Patients with outer retinal changes alone showed no correlation between the initial and final visual fields (Spearman Correlation = 0.294, P = 0.262).
