The nomenclature of sugar residues is displayed in the predicted structures of GXMs shown in Figure 7. H99 GXM had one more anomeric proton detected at 5.14 ppm (Figure 6Ac). It was also detected in the GXM of the other serotype A strain, but was not assigned previously (Sheng and Cherniak, 1997).
