Cell density [per (100 μm)²] for CGCs monitored for fluo4 fluorescence intensity in each layer (EGL, ML, and IGL) and density for the total tissue for tissue treated with or without MeHg (20 μM) and with or without bicuculline (10 μM). CGCs were more densely distributed in the EGL and IGL layers than in the ML. Paired comparisons were made between MeHg-treated and untreated for each layer.
