Neuronal distribution in middle temporal cortex. NeuN (column (a)) and GAD67 (column (b)) antibodies were used to localise respectively total neurons and interneurons in the temporal and cortex. Quantification of the numerical density of the NeuN+ nuclei and GAD67+ cells is shown in Figure 4. High magnification of GAD67 immunostaining illustrates the variability in size and shape of the interneuron population in the different cortical layers (column (b)).
