(a) mHspAT catalyzes the reversible conversion of Hsp and imidazole-acetol phosphate (IAP) and (b) mArAT catalyzes interconversion of Phe and phenylpyruvate. Both the enzymes use PLP as a cofactor and L-glutamate (Glu) as an amino-donor and convert them into PMP and α-ketoglutarate, respectively.
