Stiffness sensitivity of folding amplitude for period-doubling. With increasing stiffness contrast of μ1/μs = 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 (from top to bottom), the amplitude ratio of growing and decaying amplitudes decreases. For μ1/μs = 4 (top), the decaying amplitude has almost entirely flattened out while for μ1/μs = 12 (bottom), it is still markedly present. With increasing stiffness contrast, both the maximum amplitude and the wavelength increase (from top to bottom).
