DPD triggers expression of tapA operon and bundle formation in B. subtilis. WT cells harboring PtapA-cfp were grown in LB or LB supplemented with 0–200 μM DPD. Cultures were then incubated for 5 h at 37°C and 50 rpm. A sample from each culture was then analyzed using a confocal microscope.
