Hepatocytes were isolated from 9-week-old female wild type (A) or Tet-mev-1 mice (B) that had been supplied with doxycycline-free water. The cells were subjected to primary culture, treated with the indicated concentrations of doxycycline (Dox) for 72 hours, and then examined using cell counting assays. The values are expressed as means ± SD from six samples in each group. The asterisk indicates that the difference is statistically significant between the groups (*p < 0.01). NS, not significant.
