Graphs show that both VSL#3 (Left) and EIEC (Right) bacterial cells do not grow in the presence of antibiotics. Each bacterial strain was independently cultured in the cell culture medium (DMEM, 20% FBS) in the absence (Control; filled symbols) or the presence of a mixture of penicillin (100 units per mL) and streptomycin (100 µg/mL) (+Pen/Strep; open symbols).
