Proportion represents absolute proportion of combinations missing ignoring that there may be more combinations than individuals in a given category

b

Proportion represents the adjusted proportion for when the number of possible combinations in a category exceeded the number of individuals in that category. In this case the number of individuals was used as the denominator under the assumption that if all criteria are equal and additive in severity then all combinations should be equally likely to be observed.
