Prominent peaks exclusive to copepod samples were always visible after 13 min (compound 10 in Table 2 with a monoisotopic mass of 433.29 Da), enlarged in (B)) as well as at 24–25 min (compounds 58 and 63 in Table 1, monoisotopic mass 563.39 and 640.41 Da, enlarged in (C)). The majority of the 87 compounds detected were, however, too low in concentration to be observed without extracting specific masses.
