Mice were given 2,4-DHB (1g/kg body weight/day) from ~ 6 months after the last dose of TM or vehicle. (a) A representative picture of KO mice before the start and after 2 months of treatment. (b) The late treatment significantly extended the survival of aogMclk1 KO mice (p<0.001 versus untreated KO group; log rank test). No significant difference in life span was observed between treated KO mice and control mice (p=0.62). n = 7–8.
