Mitochondrial Ca²⁺ uptake was measured under two different conditions in control cybrids and in cybrids harboring the triple mutation. (A) Intact cells were stimulated with 100 μM histamine, an agonist that induces Ca²⁺ release form the endoplasmic reticulum. The traces depict the mean of four experiments. (B) Integration of means ± SD of the peak heights (peak-basal) obtained in four measurements performed in each clone. The differences were not significant (one-way ANOVA test). (C) A 4.5 μM Ca²⁺ buffer was perfused in permeabilized cells as indicated. The traces depict the mean of three similar experiments. (D) Bars show the mean ± SD of the rates of [Ca²⁺]_M increase obtained in three independent experiments. No significant differences were obtained.
