FMDV A12-P1 deopt is attenuated in swine. Eighteen- to 23-kg female Yorkshire swine (n = 3/group) were i.d. inoculated with indicated doses of the A12-P1 deopt mutant, and disease was followed for the next 7 days. The percentage of lymphocytes in blood (lines) and clinical score (bars) are represented. Clinical scores were determined by the number of toes presenting FMD lesions plus the presence of lesions in the snout and/or mouth. The maximum score was 17, and lesions restricted to the site of inoculation were not counted. Each graph represents the results observed in each individual animal.
