Measured and simulated force indices for 11 μm polystyrene spheres. The x-axis is the amplitude of the peak registered by the sensing electrodes, S1, before the DEP actuation, which is a measure of particles altitude in the channel (see Fig. 4(b)). Good agreement between the measured and simulation results verifies the lift coefficient value, C = 0.031.
