After high-saturated/high-cholesterol RP-diets consumption, oxidative stress is produced and SOD is activated. The formed hydrogen peroxide is then removed from the main antioxidant defense system by Si or HxT action, being in consequence not needed the overexpression of CAT or GPx pathways.
