(A) Apigenin inhibited body weight loss following bleomycin treatment. Rats were randomized into weight-matched groups. The body weight on day 0 was defined as 100%. The relative body weight was calculated as a percentage of that measured on day 0. (B) Apigenin decreased lung index in the bleomycin-treated rats. Rats were sacrificed on days 7 and 28 after bleomycin injection. Lung index was calculated as the ratio of lung wight (mg) to body weight (g) of each rat. Values are expressed as the mean ± standard deviation (n=8). Experiments were repeated three times independently, and produced similar results. #P<0.05 vs. control group; *P<0.05 vs. bleomycin group.
