Peptide G2-C is released from a contact lens. (A) Addition of cysteine does not change the activity of the G2 peptide. Human corneal epithelial cells were pretreated with the indicated treatments and concentrations before being infected with HSV-1 (KOS) gL-86 virus. Six hours post infection, the ONPG substrate was added and the color developed was quantified on a microplate reader at 405 nm. Values are normalized to the control peptide.
