The CB₂ receptor agonist LEI‐101attenuates cisplatin‐induced renal inflammation and cell death. Top panel: cisplatin (Cis) induced increases in renal TNFα and IL‐1β mRNA expression, which were attenuated by LE‐101 at 10 mg·kg⁻¹, both i.p. and p.o. treatment. Bottom panel: cell death in the kidneys was evaluated by caspase 3/7 activity and DNA fragmentation assay. Both markers of cisplatin‐induced cell death in the kidneys were attenuated by LEI‐101 treatment starting at 1.5 h before cisplatin injection. Results are means ± SEM; n = 5–8 per group; *P < 0.05, significantly different from vehicle; # P < 0.05, significantly different from cisplatin alone.
