Superimposed-burst configuration. The torso and thigh were secured with hook-and-loop straps, and the distal shank was attached to the load cell via a cable and hook-and-loop cuff positioned 2 cm proximal to the lateral malleolus. Two rectangular electrodes were placed centrally over the thigh, with the proximal electrode positioned at the height of the greater trochanter. The distal electrode was positioned in line with the proximal electrode approximately 2 cm proximal to the superior pole of the patella. The load cell was securely fixed to a vertically oriented immovable beam.
