Isometric active tension development of a representative arterial ring that was excised from the proximal descending thoracic aorta (DTA) of a mouse and held near its optimal value of circumferential stretch. Results are for stimulation with 80 mM KCl and its relaxation following a wash-out (left), stimulation with 2 μM PE (middle), then stimulation with 100 nM AngII (right). The attenuated response to AngII was not a function of the order of stimulation.
