A significant increase of serum adipsin levels was observed in preeclamptic women in late pregnancy when compared with normal pregnant women. No significant differences were observed in the other periods analyzed. Open boxes are normal pregnant women and shaded boxes are pregnant women with preeclampsia; EP = early pregnancy, MP = middle pregnancy, LP = late pregnancy. The statistical significance is indicated by **p < 0.01.
