Analysis of DNA damage levels in cancerous and non-cancerous breast cell lines after TRPM2 inhibition and doxorubicin treatment. The non-cancerous MCF-10A human breast epithelial cell line (A) and the cancerous MCF-7 human breast adenocarcinoma cell line (B) were pretreated with 100 μM 2-APB for 30 min, and then treated with 2 μM doxorubicin (Dox). DNA damage levels were then analyzed by comet assay (a) and quantified by calculating the 'Tail moment' values (b), defined as the product of the tail length and fraction of the total DNA in the tail. Con, negative control cells not pretreated with 2-APB. *p<0.05, one-way ANOVA and unpaired Student's t-test; error bars represent the SEM.
