Changes in carrageenan induced edema of hind paws of Lewis rats. The data are expressed as arithmetic mean with S.E.M. Each group contained 8–10 animals. + p < 0.05 and ++ p < 0.01 with respect to untreated animals with carrageenan induced hind paw edema. The experiment included animals with carrageenan induced hind paw edema without any drug administration (CARA), and animals with carrageenan induced hind paw edema with the administration of carnosine (CARA-CARN).
