Monocytes from CL patients (n = 8) were treated with DAF-FM diacetate (NO probe, 10mM) or CMH-2DCFDA (ROS probe, 1 μM) for 10 minutes and infected with L.braziliensis promastigotes for 25 minutes at a ratio of 5:1cells as described in materials and methods. Production of NO and ROS was evaluated by flow cytometry. (A) Correlation between NO production (%) and lesion size (mm). (B) Correlation between ROS production (%) and lesion size (mm). Statistical analysis was performed using the Pearson correlation.
