Representative Western blots for fibromodulin (a), COMP (b) and decorin (c). Abundance of each protein is expressed semi-quantitatively (df), relative to total protein content. Each symbol represents an individual sample, and lines indicate paired IFM and FM samples from the same tendon. Statistical differences were assessed between the IFM and FM using paired t-tests for normally distributed data, or Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed rank test for non-normally distributed data. To assess differences with ageing, unpaired t-tests or Mann Whitney tests were used. *p < 0.05; **p < 0.01.
