Quantitative real-time PCR was performed in CRC tissues (CA) and their pericancerous mucosa (N) to assess Ascl2, CDX2, and MUC2 mRNA levels. Ascl2 expression was higher in CRC samples A., whereas CDX2 B. and MUC2 C. expression was lower in CRC samples when compared with that in pericancerous mucosa. Ascl2 expression in CRC tissues was inversely correlated with CDX2 D. and MUC2 E. expression.
