The phenotype of DC were analyzed for expression levels of MHC I, MHC-II, CD80, CD86, CD40, and CCR7 using flow cytometry; mature DC (mDC) expressed higher levels of maturation molecules than immature DC (iDC). An ELISA revealed that mDC produced higher levels of IL-12p70 and lower levels of IL-10 in culture supernatants after subsequent CD40L stimulation, compared to iDC (P < 0.05).
