PMH were treated with PA and PA plus MA (0.5mM) to determine the expression of ER stress markers at 6 hr A. and 12 hr B. post treatment. sXBP-1 levels from PMH after incubation with PA and PA plus MA (PM) for 12 hours C. Confocal imaging of CHOP and nuclei of PMH treated with PA and PA plus MA (PM). Nuclei were visualized after staining with Hoëscht. In some cases, PMH were treated in the absence or presence of TUDCA (25μM) to determine its impact on CHOP and sXBP-1 expression E. as well as cell death F. Results are the mean±SEM of N = 5-7 individual experiments. *p < 0.05 vs. control and PA-treated PMH.
