Strains bearing luxO* variants are insensitive to C₈-AHL addition. GFP expression in strains ES114, JHK075 [luxO(P41L)], CL59 [luxO(D47E)], JHK057 [luxO(V106A)], WTTG24 [luxO(L205F)], and JHK061 [luxO(T335I)] harboring the P_qrr-gfp reporter plasmid pTM268, grown in SWTO medium with and without 1 μM added C₈-AHL, was assayed at an OD₅₉₅ of ∼2.0.
