Figure 4. Quantification of DHA Metabolites. A. Measurements of DHA.

Figure 4

The amount of DHA in different brain samples (IV LDL-DHA + FUS, IV LDL-DHA and IV Saline + FUS) was determined using LC-MS (n=3). The DHA values are presented as μmol of DHA per g of tissue. B. Measurement of Resolvin D1. The amount of DHA derived Resolvin D1 produced in different brain samples (IV LDL-DHA + FUS, IV LDL-DHA and IV Saline) was determined using a Rat resolvin D1 ELISA kit (n=3). The resolvin values are presented as pg of resolving D1 per mg of tissue). C. Measurement of Lipid Peroxidation The effect of IV LDL-DHA + FUS, IV LDL-DHA and IV Saline treatments on lipid peroxidation levels was determined using TBARS assay (n=3). The TBARS values are presented as μM of TBARS per mg of tissue. (**) represent a significant difference from the corresponding groups at p<0.005.
