Leaves of 80-day-old plants were sprayed with 8 μg/ml niclosamide and compared with untreated distal leaves sampled at the indicated time points. Samples were extracted with methanol, and niclosamide levels in the extracts were detected by HPLC. (a) HPLC chromatogram. Inset indicates the chemical structure of niclosamide.
