A peptide can remain monomeric or assume disordered, partially ordered or completely ordered aggregated states according to our model. We define the states as follows; i) Inline graphic and Inline graphic, the peptide is in its monomeric form or exists as small oligomers. ii) Inline graphic and Inline graphic and Inline graphic, the amyloid-like ordered state dominates, iii) Inline graphic and Inline graphic and Inline graphic, the aggregates are partially ordered with a mixture of β-sheet and unstructured content and iv) Inline graphic and Inline graphic, the aggregates are disordered in nature. Inline graphic, Inline graphic and Inline graphic refer to the filament, β-sheet and critical growth velocities respectively.
