Immune cell distributions in patient samples from the term and preterm study groups. Frequencies of granulocytes (left panel), classical monocytes (cMCs), non-classical monocytes (ncMCs), myeloid dendritic cells (DCs), natural killer (NK) cells, B cells, naive and memory CD4+ T cells, and naive and memory CD8+ T cells, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and γδT cells are depicted for 10 patients with a history of term birth (teal) and 9 patients with a history of preterm birth (orange). Granulocyte frequency was quantified as percent of total hematopoietic cells (CD61CD235). All other cell frequencies are expressed as percent total of mononuclear cells (CD45+CD66). Results are shown as box plots (median and interquartile range) and whiskers (range). Immune cell frequencies did not differ between the two study groups (Bonferroni adjusted P value >0.004).
