Ciliary neurotrophic factor ligand treatment of glioma tumor-initiating cells. Upper: Immunofluorescence staining of tumor-initiating cells treated with CNTF ligand (50 ng/ml) after removal of control growth factors demonstrating Sox2 loss. This suggests differentiation of tumor-initiating cells through an intact CNTF pathway. Nuclei are counterstained with DAPI. Lower: Immunofluorescence staining showing GFAP expression in 50 ng/ml CNTF ligand-treated tumor-initiating cells.
