The two species were analysed separately. L. myrsinoides: no interactions except for N (n = 5), no independent infection but significant light effect for leaf area and shoot/root ratio (n = 10). U. europaeus: no interactions (n = 6), but significant independent effect of infection on spine area and shoot/root ratio (n = 12) and significant independent effect of light on all three parameters (n = 11–12)
